Caught stealing money on drugs, would you take them back?

Question from Elizabeth D:
Q: If you have lived with someone 22 years and been through most everything and all of a sudden your partner is back on crack stealing money out of your purse for the last six months and you finally caught him. Would you take him back and trust him any longer ever again?

Ann:
“ Probably not. It’s a shame to have to hide your money and be secretive but that may be just what has to happen. As for taking him back….if he still stays after he can no longer access the money, then you may have an even deeper problem.   Ask yourself if you are his partner or his mother. Don’t be a martyr. Don’t sacrifice your life to a lost cause.”
